Develop a vision for your life
Vision is the ability to see or imagine;
the ability or an instance of great perception especially of future developments; seeing tomorrow from today; seeing the end from the beginning; seeing the ultimate purpose
of God for your life or existence; a bridge between the present and the future. Vision is what we see, and it’s also the way in which we see. Vision is not a balloon dream; it’s the picture of your future from the word as revealed by the Holy Spirit.
According to Dr. Myles Monroe, the greatest gift that God ever gave man is not the gift of sight, but the gift of vision. Sight is a function of the eyes, but vision is a function of the heart. When a person does not have a vision, they live by their eyes which means that they live by what they see. And this is one of the reasons why people are so depressed and that is why the future never becomes a reality.
Vision is the source of hope, courage and perseverance in the midst of difficulties. People fail and become frustrated in life because they lack the vital element of success and happiness called vision. Great achievers and successful people in life are distinguished from others by the size of their vision. They are born ordinary people, but by having the courage to dream big, they do extraordinary things and become extraordinary themselves. No man has ever become anything worthwhile or worth celebrating without a great vision. It is the key ingredient for success and any person who wishes to become great must have a vision. If you do not have a vision, you risk perishing and failing.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he (Proverbs 29:18) KJV
Your vision must be purposeful and you must get fulfilment in everything you do towards achieving it. Vision unleashes enormous power and it acts as a guide or compass towards your achievements. It guides your choices and allows you to see opportunities you might otherwise miss. Vision brings greater meaning to your present circumstances. It also empowers you to deal more effectively and courageously with future challenges life may present to you.
God works with people who have a vision. He called and directed Abraham to the land of Canaan. This is the same land which He was to give to his descendants, and it’s from here where He commanded him to visualise it.
The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever ~ Genesis 13:14-15 ESV
No matter how small or great you are right now, you should just dare to ask for more. God does not care about your situations or how your life is messed up right now, He just wants you to have a vision. Your smallness, lack, inadequacy or whatever it is that you think is an obstacle to you cannot obstruct God from helping you fulfil your vision. However much or small you have or failed to accomplish, you are capable of much more than you think.
You shouldn’t allow your doubts to keep you playing small or your fears to stop you from aiming high. Don’t even let your feelings of inadequacies about your abilities to turn your vision into reality deter you from getting started. Once you connect yourself to God
and let him be your master, He will help you out.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry (Habakkuk 2:3) NKJV
