The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit ~ Proverbs 18:21
The spoken word is very powerful, whether negative or positive. It has the power to build or tear down. It is like a raw material which forms the life we want. It is one of the most under estimated things among human beings. Most of us speak and talk any how without thinking twice. The spoken word is not only powerful to make changes in your life – it is the power through which definite changes come about. Regardless of the external influences and circumstances surrounding you, your life is shaped through the words you speak.
Nothing is legal in this world unless it is spoken into existence. Everything that comes out of your mouth frames your world and forms your destiny. We must be very careful on what we release out of our mouths. There are great examples in the Old Testament of how several people used spoken words to change their destinies. God, in the beginning used spoken word to create whatever He wanted to exist.
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. ~ Genesis 1:2-3
The whole world, creatures and whatever exists was created through the spoken word.
During their journey to Canaan, the children of Israel spoke against the will of God for them. They had received a negative report concerning the land they were to occupy and they ended up grumbling;
That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness ~ Numbers 14:1-2
The Lord said in verse 27-29;
“How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. So tell them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very thing I heard you say: In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me ~ Numbers 14:27-29
Many people have sabotaged their destinies by the words of their mouths while others have either delayed or aborted theirs. We cannot speak the opposite of what we want to see. When we speak negatively, we practically cancel what God has said over our lives. When we speak poverty, we cancel wealth and abundance, when we speak weakness; we cancel strength and so on.
Whatever we speak, we give it permission to exist in our lives. In the spiritual realm, your miracle is always in motion, but it is waiting for you to activate it through the spoken word. If you want to see great things happening in your life, and if you want to reach to your destiny, make good use of your mouth by speaking the right things according to the will of God concerning your life.
